Saxman Doug Jones is a veteran of contemporary jazz having honed his skills through the years playing with some of Connecticut’s best musicians and opening for many national acts too. That experience shines on Jones’ newest CD “ Top Down”. ‘Top Down’ showcases Doug’s skills as a crafty composer and arranger as well as a multi-dimensional player. The track Almost Summer is instantly catchy and will be a well-defined single that you can savor. Walking with Jack is a sentimental favorite, combining some old school jazz and blues licks with Jones unsung skills on harmonica and flute. No matter which tune you spin, it’s nothing but the ‘Top Down’ on this CD!
